I need to get this down so I could not forget what happened to me this last month...  I have been struggling with extreme stress.  So much I can not even function.  I asked for blessing's which Dave was happy to give.  I asked for Medication which my Doctor promptly gave.  I asked for help watching my Father and got it with Meadows health care.  I now know after 30 years of marriage a small portion of the struggles Dave has had with Depression.  When I talked to my sister last night.  I said I could not explain the deep feelings of despair I have. And yes it is all mental and not physical but that does not mean it is any less real.  (We were discussing my Dads Itching problems)  I have said for a long time.  I believe my Fathers physical problems are caused by stress.  I have a stronger understanding what Stephanie is struggling with also at this time.  I do no want to have to go through this process to learn a lesson.  But I am sure my loving Heavenly Father will not give me something that I can not handle.  I am hoping with A doctors help that this too will pass.   And I can return to living and enjoying life. Some of the issues of despair that have is my teeth are always clenched with waking up biting my tongue. hot sweats, suffocation, world issues trigger despairing thoughts. Headaches from tensing numbing feeling in legs.  Shaking like i have low sugar. my heart rate is accelerated. shortness of breath.  dizziness, light headed. fear of dying.

    My Last week's Hike was to Anasazi Valley Trail head.  Here are some beautiful pic's of the area.  It is located just past Ivans Utah.   It was amazing 3 mile hike.  Although  I did not go to the end, I enjoyed the nature and the quietness of what I did get to do.























Family additions came this month also.  " Here is Johnny" (ha-ha couldn't resist the tonight show theme)
And here is the rest of Grandma Bonnie's Pride and Joy! Left to Right.  Alex, Izzy, Ellee, Emma, Colleen, Reese, and Spencer.  It had to be a fast picture session with 7 very active kids.
    After a Fun filled week playing and Tending Gran kids.  I came back home to St George and started my routine again. And had some trouble with my eyes.  Contacts came out and new ones went in.  (only after a couple weeks of wearing a new set) That is when I found my eye looked bad...  Went to the eye doctor and he said your eye has hemorrhaged!

As I am posting this blog It looks much better and I should be able to ditch the glasses tomorrow!!

    I still am trying to get in the right frame of mind to be able to study my scriptures and find joy in studying them.  Things did not all follow the plan with housework and meals with Dave.  So we will try to come to a happy medium for Both of us.  Spending more time with helping with my Father this last week.  I don't know how my Sister copes with all she does.  But hopefully what I can do helps lighten her load.

A New Prospective For Grandma Bonnie!

    As I deleted all my old "shame on me" blogs.  Year after year trying to set weight loss goals and NOTHING was improving.  I have decided to take a new Approach in my Goal to improve Grandma Bonnie with a happier outlook of life.  And to work on improving Body, Spiritual and Mental. So starting today March 28th, With sharing my improved outlook of my Life.

    I talked with Dave today and asked for some help.  We both work the same hours, same kind of job in fact we work for the same company, same department, our offices are next to each other.  And I felt I was caring the heavier load of things with paying the bills and food shopping and trying to keep the house clean to getting the "guilt trip" look from Dave for only cooking meals for me and not for both of us. I also do a weekly food shopping and planning for my Dad,  all after we got off working 8 hours.  So the plan I suggested was that I would do the shopping and the cooking and meal planning and Dave would take up the house cleaning.  He said he would try it for the next two weeks and see how it goes.  This way I can try to do the healthier meals to start losing weight,  and I get an attitude adjustment to help Dave eat healthier also.

Body:
Started today with a morning walk.  I have truly missed this enjoyable outings.  I know it was not far.  And all the creatures ran away before I could take a picture of them.  But I hope to share some wonderful trails here in St George with you weekly.  I also spoke to soon when I told my daughter last week than I have enjoyed and allergy free year!!! It hit me a couple days ago. Yuck!!  I hate when I can't breath out of my nose!

Mental:
This walk also helped me with my mental outlook today so I am attaching it to my mental improvement.  I am also going to try to finish sewing my Granddaughter's dresses this week that I started for Christmas and did not finish.





I am hoping EASTER?  I also enjoy cooking and am looking at sharing some fun recipes.

Spiritual:
This weeks Goal is to have my evening prayers with Dave and Morning individual prayers.  Also start some regular scripture reading.  Tonight is women's conference that I am looking forward to.

    Lastly, I am looking forward to a new Grandson Hopefully soon.  Will post that update next week.

We survived the Bear Lake Retreat of 2013!
We enjoyed the time together with the kids that was able to come.  We all got to the Harts house Friday night and enjoyed a game of minute to win it... Saturday was the beach outing with Ryan pulling his parents trailer down to the lake so we could all enjoy the comfort of the trailer when needed. Then it was off to Pickleville for the girls for the Theatre drama of 7 brides for 7 brothers. While the men enjoyed one on one with the kiddo's.

Another goal set... Hopefully posting pictures of my Progress will help me stick with my goal of losing some weight..  I have not been successful so far since I took this picture on Sept 30th..  250 lbs But then I didn't post it...
Oct 30 I will take another one... then each month I will log my progress.   I have gained even since Sept with moving and grand baby's being born. Time to re-program...

ALEXANDER and the BIG DAY

Get up Grandpa, get up and get ready,
It’s time to go, and don’t call me Betty.

Today’s the big day we’ve been waiting for,
Come on and get up, get your pants off the floor.

So Grandpa got up, got up to get ready,
And said to Grandma, what’s wrong with Betty?

I’m up and I’m ready and bright as an apple,
I’m ready to go to Alex’s chapel.

To see him Baptized and Confirmed by his Dad,
This is the biggest day he ever has had.

It’s bigger than teeth falling out of his head,
It’s bigger than jumping on Grandmother’s bed,
While she’s still asleep with dreams in her head.

So off to the chapel we both were so ready,
Grandpa and Grandma, whose name is not Betty.

So Alex was splashed down under the water,
He pinched on his nose while his Dad dunked him harder.

Then Alex stood up, as wet as a fish,
The kind Grandpa eats that tastes so delish.

His Dad then confirmed and blessed him aplenty,
And blessed him with blessings 1 through 20 ,
And we all wiped a tear, especially Grandmother Betty.

Enjoyed having Sarah and Ryan and the Girls visit us last weekend.  Looking forward to Jen and Ben and the boys coming this weekend.  Also looking forward to a Bear Lake Family Retreat in August.

I got this one from our Monthly Cooking Activity in the Val Verda Bountiful ward: (I will be sharing many favorites from this resource)

Sloppy Joes  
given to us from Sheri Heslington

1 Tablespoon butter 
1/4 c chopped onion
1 pound lean ground beef
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 to 1 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
6 hamburger buns
Butter for buttering the buns (optional)

Melt the 1 Tablespoon butter in a medium saucepan or skillet over medium heat and cook and stir the onion until soft.  Add the meat and cook and stir until it is thoroughly cooked. Drain and return to the pan.

Add the ketchup, 1/2 cup of the water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, chili powder, salt and pepper.  Simmer for 20 minutes, adding more water as needed for the desired consistency.

Butter the buns and toast them under the broiler.  Watch closely to be sure they don't burn.  Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns and cover with the tops.  serve immediately.

July 16th

Hi all,

Dave and I are looking forward to our kids coming for a visit.  Sarah and Ryan and the Girls are coming down to St George this weekend.  Alex had his tonsils out so we will see if Jen and Ben and the boys can make it the weekend after.  We have our upcoming Bear Lake family get-to-gather in about a month...  Pickleville here comes the Condie girls!!!

I tried a new pesto pizza and thought I would share it with you.  I found it on the Rhodes frozen Bread dough recipes.  It was really yummy And my Father even had 2 slices...


Ingredients:

10 Rhodes™ Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon taco seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups grated colby-Jack cheese
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped green onion

Cilantro Pesto:
2 cups cilantro leaves
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons pine nuts or walnuts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
salt and pepper to taste


Directions: Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Combine rolls together and roll into a 13-inch circle. Place on a sprayed 12-inch pizza pan. Poke several times with a fork to prevent bubbles from forming. Bake at 350°F 10 minutes. Remove from oven to cool.
Combine cilantro pesto ingredients in a small food processor bowl and process until almost smooth. Spread evenly over cooled crust. In a bowl, combine chicken and taco seasoning and mix well. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until cooked through. Place chicken evenly over pesto. Top with cheese, tomatoes and green onion. Bake at 350°F 10-15 minutes.
